The next Zurich Chess Challenge is set to take place from 13th to 19th February, 2015, in Hotel Savoy Baur en Ville, in the largest city in Switzerland, Russian Chess Federation announced.

European Youth Chess Championships 2014 – Participants Update

Georgian Chess Federation and European Chess Union are organizing the 2014 European Youth Chess Championships, which will take place in Batumi (Black See), Georgia between October the 18th (arrival) and October the 29th (departure).

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Windhoek, Namibia

From 12 to 14 September 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Windhoek, Namibia, by the Namibian Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer was IA Werner Stubenvoll (AUT), FIDE Lecturer. The lectures were in English language.

Fourteen (14) people from Namibia participated in the Seminar and all of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

11th IGB Dato Arthur Tan Malaysia Open – Round 3 Video

The 11th IGB Dato Arthur Tan Malaysia Open is taking place from 15-21st September at the Cititel Hotel Mid Valley, MidValley City, Kuala Lumpur.

130 players from 15 countries, including 14 Grandmasters and 19 International Masters, are taking part in the event.

Marostica Chess Festival 2014

The traditional Marostica Chess Festival took place on 12-14th September 2014 at Piazza Castello in Marostica, a town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, northern Italy, mostly famous for its living chess event and for the local cherry variety.

A chess game with living characters represented a Middle Aged story (see below).
