Gata Kamsky with top prize in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas International Chess Festival – National Open Championship – was held on 12-15th June at the Riviera Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, USA.

The Festival had eight sections: Championship, Under 2200, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600, Under 1400, Under 1200 and Unrated.

The playing format was 6-rounds Swiss and the total prize fund was 80,000 USD.

Twelve players lead Open Teplice with perfect score

The 9th Annual International Chess Tournament Open Teplice is in progress.

The 9-round Swiss event is taking place from 14th to 22nd June, 2014, at the Estrade Hall in Culture House of Teplice, Czech Republic.

Dobrotich Andreev claims 111th MGU Open 2014

The 111th edition of the traditional MGU Open took place on 14-15th June, 2014, at Chess Club MGU, in the Bulgarian capital and most populous city Sofia.

The event was a 6 round Swiss Open with a time control 50 minutes per player plus 10 seconds increment starting from move 1, organized in honor of Angel Tsenukov, born on 17th June, 75 years ago.

First place was shared in a four-way tie by NM Dobrotich Andreev, NM Yane Gelemerov, Andrey Mladenov and Nikolay Kostov on 4,5/6 points. However, National Master Dobrotich Andreev emerged a winner on his superior tie-break score.

GM Alexander Nosenko (Ukraine) leads Alekhine Memorial (Master Open) Voronezh with perfect score 4/4 points.  Second place is shared in a 4-way tie by GM Vladislav Artemiev (Russia), GM Pavel Ponkratov (Russia), GM Dmitry Kokarev (Russia) and 

2nd Golden Apricot Tournament LIVE!

The 2nd International Golden Apricot Chess Tournament is taking place from 14th to 20rd June, 2014, at the Ataturk Sport Center in the city of Malatya, Turkey.

The event is organized by the Turkish Chess Federation, Malatya Metropolitan Municipality and Malatya GHSİM in a 9 round Swiss format with a time control 90 minutes per player plus 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

The total prize fund is in the amount of 35 000 TL and the winner will be granted 4000 TL.
