The European School Chess Championships are scheduled to take part from 13th to 27th June, 2014 in the beautiful city of Kavala, situated on the Bay of Kavala in the northern Greece.

The 28th International Open Tournament Pula 2014 is taking part from 7th to 14th June, 2014 in Pula, Croatia.

The 9-round Swiss event is organized by the Chess Club Pula and Croatian Chess Federation. 187 players from 16 different countries will be vying for the first prize of 1000 €.

Top seed is GM Zoran Jovanovic.

The 5th Marathon International Rapid Chess Tournament will be held on 7th-8th June, 2014 at Mega Mall Rabat in Rabat, the capital and the fifth largest city of Morocco, situated on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regrer.

It will be a traditionally strong event, with many Grandmasters and a special participation of GM Viswanathan Anand - the challenger for Carlsen’s crown.

The Baltic Zonal Chess Tournament has started in Liepaja with a formal opening ceremony participating the FIDE President and the heads of the Baltic chess federations.

Twelve of the most accomplished chess masters from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will compete for the FIDE Presidential Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Cup.

The World Art Cup 2014 was hosted in Paris for the 8th consecutive year. The traditional festival gathered people of art from all around the world.

The event was organized by Mr. Tardits and took place at the L’Orchidee du Cheval Blanc in the French capital. It is traditionally open to all chess players in the sphere of art.

The traditional ČEZ Chess Trophy 2014 Festival will be held from 6th to 10th June, 2014 at the marvelous Michna Palace in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.
