FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship 2022 – Day 3 live

The 2022 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships take place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) between Sunday, the 25th of December and run through until Friday, the 30th of December.

Prague Chess Open 2023 – LIVE

The 21st edition of the Prague Chess Open will take place from 6-13 January 2023 at the Olympik Hotel Prague, Czech Republic. The event will be played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 30 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the end of the game and 30 seconds increment starting from move one.

50th Rilton Cup starts in Stockholm

The 50th edition of the Rilton Cup, Sweden’s biggest open tournament, takes place from December 27 to January 5 in Stockholm, Sweden. The event will be part of the FIDE Circuit, a new qualification path to the Candidates Tournament.

Jan-Krzysztof Duda: Classical chess is the type I like least

In the post-game interview of the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship 2022 Round 7, Polish grandmaster GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda said that he is doing okay so far in the event. He explained that he had a tense game against Abdusattorov at the start of the second Rapid day adding that he enjoys shorter time controls. “The shorter time control is, the better I feel. (…) Classical chess is the type I like least to be honest.

Eric Hansen withdrew from FIDE World Rapid Championship 2022

GM Eric Hansen announced today on his official twitter account that he decided to withdraw from the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship 2022 for medical reasons. Hansen explained that he developed aggressive flu-like symptoms overnight and that he will decide in 2 days if he will compete in the Blitz Championship.

41st Ludwik Zamenhof Memorial B 2022 – LIVE

41st edition of Ludwik Zamenhof Memorial B is taking place from 27 – 31 December 2022 in Bialystok, Poland. It is an 9-round Swiss tournament with participation of Aliaksei Hryharovich, Zakhar Bogdanov, Marcin Pilzak, Jakub Suliborski, Wojciech Smieszek, Pawel Stankiewicz, Ignat Bogdanov, Maciej Adamczewski, Ryszard Kasperek, Maciej Podgorski, Pawel Kozlowski, etc.

41st edition of Ludwik Zamenhof Memorial A is taking place from 27 – 31 December 2022 in Bialystok, Poland. It is an 9-round Swiss tournament with participation of Vitaliy Bernadskiy, Vidmantas Malisauskas, Bartlomiej Heberla, Szymon Gumularz, Pawel Teclaf, Igor Janik, Danyyil Dvirnyy, Tomasz Markowski, Jakub Kosakowski, Jan Klimkowski, etc.
