50+ Spanish Senior Championship is taking place from 29 October to 6 November 2022 in Altea, Spain. It is a 9-round Swiss open with Jose Candela Perez, Francisco M. Terron Elena, Antonio Cantero Navarro, Evarist Perez Pastora, Luis Bevia Martinez, Francisco Carrera Perez, Pedro Maria Pastor Pons, Julio Gonzalez Valero, etc.

Baden-Baden Herbstopen is taking place from 3–6 November 2022 in Baden-Baden, Germany. It is a 7-round Swiss tournament with Philipp Schlosser, Lukas Pfatteicher, Igor Solomunovic, Oleg Korneev, Vadim Cernov, Sebastian Fischer, Veaceslav Cofmann, Jonathan Carlstedt, Jafar Mohebbi, etc.

The final event of the 1.6$ Meltwater Champions Chess Tour 2022 will be held from 14-20 November in San Francisco. Eight elite chess stars will take part in the third and final major in a unique online and in-person hybrid chess event. Four players will compete from SHACK15 in San Francisco, while four will play remotely. 

A drama-filled season spanning nearly a full year of competition has led to the ninth and final event of the award-winning Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. The tournament is a seven-day long all-play-all round robin starting on November 14 and concluding on November 20.

The 2022 European Open and Women Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships will take place from 16th-18th December in Katowice, Poland. The organizer is Silesian Chess Federation under the auspices of the ECU and Polish Chess Federation.

The 4th and final classical game of the Women’s Candidates Pool A semi-finals between Anna Muzychuk and Lei Tingjie kicked off by Marie Noelle Gibelli, a member of the National Council of Monaco, making the ceremonial first move. Marco Biagioli, Mitropa President and External Manager of the Italian Chess Federation, also was in the playing hall watching the game.

The 2022 FIDE World Amateur Championship is in the books. The event took place in Malta from October 20-30 and was held in four sections: U2300, U2000, U1700 and Women U1700. Women playing in the open sections U2300 and U2000 were eligible to win prizes from both categories. All the competitions were 9-round Swiss tournaments with classical time control.

The 2022 European Senior Team Chess Championships (50+ & 65+ age categories) concluded yesterday in Dresden, Germany. England 50-1 won the 50+ event with a round to spare and after nine played rounds scored convincing 17 match points. Berlin 1 and Germany tied for the second place scoring 14 match points, each. According to tiebreaks criteria (Olympiad-Sonneborn-Berger), Berlin 1 claimed silver and Germany came bronze.

India dominated the 2022 Asian Chess Championship, which came to an end in New Delhi on November 3. Indian players swept the podium in both open and women’s sections, with Rameshbabu Praggnanadhaa and Pallathur Venkatachalam Nandhidhaa winning the titles. Both events were 9-round Swiss tournaments with classical time control.

The European Youth Chess Championship 2022 will be played in 6 age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18, open and girls sections separately, and opens on Sunday in Antalya, Turkey. The event will be played from 6th to 15th November in 9 rounds, swiss system.
