The 19-year-old American grandmaster Hans Niemann has been in the limelight for the last couple of weeks. After Niemann defeated Magnus Carlsen in the third round of the Sinquefield Cup 2022, the World Chess Champion decided to withdraw from the event.

The FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships 2022, organized by FIDE, the Georgian Chess Federation and the Georgian Chess Club “64”, took place from 16-28 September, in three age groups – Under 8, 10, 12 and 2 sections – open and girls.
