The 15th edition of the International Chess Festival Paracin 2022 starts tomorrow and will be played from 8 – 16 July at the Pool Prestige Hotel in Paracin. Just two days after the end of one of the biggest European Open chess events in Novi Sad, Paracin hosts another massive and strong event.

The 2022 New York GM/IM Summer Invitational will take place from 7-11 July at Hilton Garden Inn Midtown Park Ave, New York. The event features four 10-player round-robin tournaments for grandmasters and international masters norms. Starting rank list of players for each tournament can be found below.

From July 6 – 16, 2022, Saint Louis, America’s Chess Capital, will host the top juniors, girls, and seniors in the invitational 2022 U.S. Junior, U.S. Girls’ Junior, and U.S. Senior Chess Championships. The three 10-player fields will tie together chess past and future for a celebration of the best of chess and feature more than $130,000 in prizes. All information and starting rank lists

The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 is set to take place from July 28th to August 10th in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is the most important massive event in chess, involving thousands of participants.

The International Open Chess Championship of Serbia called “Serbia OPEN 2022” took place from June 28th – July 6th in Novi Sad, Master Centre, attracting 400 entries from 41 countries. The event was played in two sections: Masters (for players rated 2100+) and Amateurs (for players rated U2200) with a total prize fund of 35.000 euros.

While the chess world impatiently expects reigning World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen to decide whether he’ll defend his World Champion title in the 2023 World Chess Championship Match, the chess king competes in the World Series of Poker 2022 Main event in Las Vegas. In the competition of 1800 players, Magnus didn’t manage to survive Day 1C.

The FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 concluded in Madrid with Ian Nepomniachtchi lifting the Winner’s trophy, thus qualifying for the World Chess Championship Match. Altogether with the convincing victory of the Russian grandmaster, the event brought much excitement and record interest.

The European Senior Chess Championship 2022 takes place from 5-14 July in Arche Hotel Lublin. The event is played in two age categories: 50+ and 65+, with separate prizes for female players. The total prize fund of the event is 6.000 EUR. 56 players from 15 European countries registered for the events which are played over 9 swiss rounds, with time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

The European Senior Chess Championship 2022 commenced in Lublin, Poland, taking place from 5-14 July in Arche Hotel Lublin.
