TCEC S22 Superfinal starts today

The Superfinal for the highest title in computer chess starts today at 17:00 UTC and you can follow it live at the official site and TCEC Twitch TV. The TCEC S22 Superfinal will be 100 games match between the reigning champion Stockfish and the challenger KomodoDragon. The opening book is created by Jeroen Noomen and GM Matthew Saddler.

Wesley So is the winner of Berlin Chess Grand Prix 2022

The last battle of the entire 2022 FIDE Grand Prix series organised by World Chess has finished on the 4th of April. In the final match tiebreaker, Wesley So outplayed Hikaru Nakamura by a score of 1½:½ and won the third leg of the Grand Prix in Berlin. The tournament winner and the runner-up looked happy at the closing ceremony as both of them could celebrate the success in the tournament. Despite the result of the final match, Hikaru Nakamura qualified for the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022 and became the overall winner of FIDE Grand Prix Series 2022.

Sergey Karjakin is developing his own online chess platform

Russian Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin is developing his own online chess platform. In his telegram channel, he shared, “Together with the largest Russian IT company, I am participating in the development of a chess portal! We have an excellent symbiosis between professional programmers and chess players.” Karjakin added that the portal aims to hold online competitions and will have artificial intelligence to detect cheating.

FIDE Grand Prix final goes to tiebreaks

Hikaru Nakamura and Welsey So drew their second game in the final match of the third stage of the FIDE Grand Prix organised by World Chess. The winner of the event will be determined tomorrow in a tiebreaker. Hikaru Nakamura picked White for the first rapid game against Wesley So during the drawing of lots procedure. It was a short draw in the Berlin Variation of the Ruy Lopez today, where both players deviated from the playable lines and quickly entered a famous drawish variation.

Gujarat Chess Open 2022 with 377 players

The 3rd edition of the Gujarat International GrandMaster Chess Open is going to take place March 31 – April 7 in Karnavati Club, S.G.Highway, Ahmedabad. A total of 377 players of which 60 titled are going to participate. Top seeded are GM Neuris Delgado Ramirez, GM Boris Savchenko, GM Stany, and GM Bharathakoti Harsha.
