FM Venkata Karthik wins Super Heroes Cup

The Super Heroes Cup 2021, organized by Chessbase India, took place 14-16 May. 16 real life super heroes fought in a knock-out tournament and all of them are already winners!

The event featured 6 visually impaired persons, 6 physically disabled and 3 deaf. Read more about participants here.

Koivisto downs with black the rating favorite

Koivisto,  the open source chess engine by Kim Kåhre and Finn Eggers, is dominating the Qualification League of the Top Chess Engine Championship. After 19 rounds (out of total 26) it has collected 16,5/19. This is 2,5 points lead ahead of the second, the star debutant ClassicAra.

Belarus Chess Champions 2021 crowned!

Belarus Open and Women’s Chess Championships 2021 simultaneously took place from 8-16 May in Minsk.

Both events were played within 9 rounds, swiss system, with 23 players in Open section and 12 players in Women’s section.

Law Academy Kharkiv dominates Ukrainian Teams Chess Championships 2021

Ukrainian Teams Chess Championships 2021 took place from 6th-14th May in Lviv with participation of more than 150 players competing for their clubs in three events: classical, rapid and blitz.

Law Academy Kharkiv dominated the event taking first place in all competitions! Bank Lviv was second in a classical event and Chernivitsi Zubr took bronze.

GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov and GM Nodirbek Yakubboev qualify for the World Chess Cup 2021

FIDE 3.4 Zonal Chess Championship concluded today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The event took place from 6-15 May, with participation of 34 players from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

After 9 rounds played in Swiss system, two chess prodigies qualified for the upcoming FIDE World Chess Cup 2021: GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov and GM Nodirbek Yakubboev!
