Chinese Open and Women’s Chess Championships 2021 simultaneously took place Xinghua Jiangsu, being played from May 7- May 15. Both events were played in a single round-robin format, within 11 rounds, with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.

The 262 players over-the-board tournament was played in the Accedia headquarters this weekend. GM Ivan Cheparinov is the winner of Accedia Masters 2021. He finished with 7,5/9 , the same points as GM Vassil Spassov, GM Momchil Nikolov and GM Petar Arnaudov, but with a better tiebreak.

The U14 player Nikola Kanov was impressive, finishing 5th in the strong field with 7/0/9. Top women players are WGM Adriana Nikolova, WIM Elitsa Raeva, WFM Mehmed Elif, FM Gergana Peycheva, and Patricie Naymanova, all with 6,0/9

VOD of the opening ceremony of the ECU Girls and Women Chess Weekend with the organizer Lilli Hahn, the ECU Vice President Eva Repkova, and the director of Sports German chess youth association Kristin Wodzinski. Special guest Tatia Skhirtladze, director of the documentary “Glory to the Queen”.

Chessbase India organizes the Super Heroes Cup 2021 with participation of 16 real life super heroes fighting in a knock-out tournament!

The event takes place from 14th-16th May with a total prize fund of around 3.000 euros, involving 16 top Indian differently-abled players. Seven players are visually impaired, six are physically disabled and three players are deaf.

Chessbase India will stream the entire tournament with live commentary by IM Sagar Shah and Amruta Mokal, together with special guests.

Koivisto is back to pole position in the TCEC S21 Qualification League. After twelve rounds Koivisto collected 10,0/12 (eight wins and four draws) and remains the only undefeated engine in the field.

Koivisto is closely followed by the star newcomer ClassicAra with 9,5/12. ClassicAra lost its first game in the event against the rating favorite Booot.
