Swiss Championship 2018

SwitzerlandThe Swiss Championship is a 10-player round-robin tournament taking place from 12-20 July 2018 in Lenzerheide. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

Hou Yifan to play Nikita Vitiugov during Russia-China chess summit in Altai

A traditional Russia-China Junior Match of Friendship will be held at the Siberia Sanatorium (Altai Krai, Belokurikha) from July 14th till July 18th.

The competition includes:

• A match between junior teams of Russia and China. Each team consists of 8 chess players (including at least 2 girls) born in 2004 or later.

ECU Board meeting in Bucharest

The 2nd European Chess Union Board meeting in 2018 took place on the 7th of July in Bucharest, Romania. The meeting was held under excellent conditions in the Marshal Garden Hotel.

The President of the Romanian Chess federation Mr. Sorin-Αvram Iacoban and the ECU Deputy President Mr. Ion Dobronauteanu welcomed the ECU Board members to Bucharest for the second time during the last four years.
