Russian Teachers with Academic & ECU certification

Russian Chess Federation and Moscow Pedagogical State University signed the Agreement about cooperation. The signatures under Agreement were put by Rector Alexey Lubkov and President Andrey Filatov.

On January 31, 2018 the Moscow Pedagogical State University and the Russian Chess Federation signed the Agreement on cooperation with the purpose of consolidation of efforts for ensuring social request for introduction of chess to educational space of elementary school, ensuring mass training of teachers in technologies of teaching chess in fixed and after hours.

Tamir Nabaty leading in Moscow Open

The grandmaster from Israel Tamir Nabaty is the sole leader of the 2018 Moscow Open Men’s Cup of Russia. After the victory over Nikolai Shukh from Russia in the seventh round he has 6,5 points.

Young Moscow chess players Nikita Afanasiev and Semen Lomasov are sharing the second place, remaining behind the leader at a half-step distance. Nine players scored 5,5 points.

2nd Marcel Duchamp Cup

Final-Uruguay-2 2nd Marcel Duchamp Cup will be held from 2 to 8 February in Montevideo, Uruguay. The venue is Sala Roja y Foyer del Centro de Conferencias de la IMM, Montevideo.
There are more then 150 participants. The top players are GM Sandro Mareco, GM Gilberto Hernandez, GM Ulf Andersson, GM Salvador Alonso etc…

11th Karen Asrian Memorial Chess Tournament

The Armenian Chess Federation is organizing an international open chess tournament, dedicated to the memory of GM Karen Asrian, which will take place on June 20-30, 2018, in the prominent resort town of Jermuk.

All interested chess players can participate in the 9-round Swiss tournament. The total prize fund is increased and amounts to AMD equivalent of $ 27,000.

European School Chess Championship 2018

Poland flagThe Malopolska Chess Association, the Polish Chess Federation, the Community of Krakow, the European Chess Union (ECU), have honour to invite all the Chess Federations, and eligible players to take part in the European School Chess Championship 2018 organized in Krakow, Poland from 29th June to 8th July 2018.

Aronian Wins Gibraltar Chess Open In Playoff

Levon AronianGM Levon Aronian is the winner in Gibraltar open 2018.

276 players took part in this tournament. It was traditionally the strongest open around with more then 100 GMs, including many of the top 10.

8 HDBANK CUP INTERNATIONAL OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT 2018

Vietnam Chess FederationThe 8th HDBANK Cup International Open Chess Tournament will be held from 9th to 16th March 2018 in HaNoi, VietNam. The venue will be Army Hotel. The tournament will be divided in 2 sections. Master Category: for players rated above 2100 and women rated above 2000.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Chennai, India

From 26 to 28 January 2018 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Chennai, India, by the Tamil Nadu State Association, in cooperation with the All India Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Royal Regency Hotel, in Chennai.

The Lecturer was IA Prof. R. Anatharam (IND), FIDE Arbiters’ Commission Councillor and FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Dharmendra Kumar (IND).

The lectures were in the English language.
