IV Floripa Chess Open 2018 will be held from 19 to 25 january in Florianópolis. The tournament is 9 round Swiss. There will be more then 420 participants.The top players are GM Julio Granda

The Chess Olympiad is one of the major events in the world of sports, attracting more than 180 countries and around 4,000 athletes and officials.

This year Georgia will be organizing the 43rd Chess Olympiad. This large-scale event will start in Batumi on September 23 and end on October 6.

Sixteen countries had participated in the first Chess Olympiad but the 43rd Chess Olympiad is expecting the teams of women and men from approximately 190 countries.

The 77th Georgian Championship will be held as knockout system between 16 players. Time control will be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
