The Indian Premier Chess Championship is taking place from November 15-28, 2015.

The event is an 11-category round-robin tournament with an average Elo rating 2503.

The 2nd Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival 2015 will be held from 13-20th December at the Sunway Playa Golf Sitges Hotel & Spa in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain.

The 9-round Swiss event will have two sections: Group A open to all players and valid for title norms, and Group B reserved for U2000 players.

A total of 19,700 EUR in cash prizes will be distributed among over 100 players. Top prizes in the Group A are 2000 € / 1200 € / 800 € / 700 € / 550 € etc

The 2015 Myanmar International Open is set to take place from 22-28th November at the Central Hotel, Bogyoke Aung San Road, Yangon.

The Max Euwe Center organizes matches between Dutch young talents and Dutch top players from November 12-15, 2015, at the Joke Smit College in Amsterdam.

The event is a 4-round Scheveningen match in honor of Max Euwe who was crowned World champion 80 years ago.

Young talents: Robby Kevlishvili (14 y.o., 2361), Hing-Ting-Lai (18 y.o., 2334), Lucas van Foreest (14 y.o., 2296) and Casper Schoppen (13 y.o., 2220).

The 2015 European Team Chess Championship starts today with 36 teams in Open Section and 30 teams in Women Section.

The first seeds are Russia (Open) and Georgia (Women). Total number of players in Open section is 178, among whom 176 are title holders – 133 GMs, 32 IMs and 11 FMs! In Women Section 146 International title holders are on the field, among whom 13 GMs, 37 WGMs, 27 IMs and 27 WIMs.

It’s been almost a month since the sudden and shocking passing of IM Emory Tate in the last Championship at BayAreaChess Center.

The organizers have immediately started the process with USCF of re-naming the upcoming tournament to dedicate it to his memory.
