The World Junior Chess Championships 2014 (for boys & girls under 20) are being held in Pune, India, from 6th to 19th October 2014.

The Championship is organized and conducted by Maharashtra Chess Association under the auspices of AICF and FIDE.

The Gelendzhik chess festival will take place 3-13 January 2015 in Russia. The International Chess Tournament “Kolomenskaya versta” 2014 was held on 4-10th October 2014 in the ancient city of Kolomna, situated in the confluence of the Moscow and Oka Rivers in Russia.

The event was a 9-round Swiss FIDE Tournament, valid for IM norms.

Russian FM Kiril Kozionov won the event with 6,5/9, leaving the nearest followers half point behind. The winner fulfilled his IM norm playing at ELO performance 2472.

The Unive Hoogeveen Chess Open Tournament 2014 is taking place on 11-18th October 2014 in Hoogeveen, in the Netherlands.
