Georgian Club Chess Championship 2014 was held from 26th September to 4th October 2014 in Ureki, a town in Georgia situated on the Black Sea coast.

The event was a 7-round Team Championship, played in a round-robin format.

The 40th Berger Paints National ‘A’ Chess Championship-2014 was organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation and sponsored by Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited from 20th September 2014 to 4th October 2014 at the Media Center of Bangladesh Olympic Association in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

GM Ziaur Rahman emerged a clear winner with 11 points, leaving the  runner-up GM Niaz Murshed a full point behind.

The PokerStars Isle of Man International Chess Tournament is taking place on 4-12th October 2014 at the Villa Marina, Isle of Man.

The Master Section is a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament with a time control 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the remaining moves, with 30 seconds added per move from the start.

The International Chess Tournament “Kolomenskaya versta” 2014 is taking place on 4-10th October 2014 in the ancient city of Kolomna, situated in the confluence of the Moscow and Oka Rivers in Russia.

The events is a 9-round Swiss FIDE Tournament split into 3 different tournaments. The highlight of the festival is Tournament A, valid for IM norms. Chess players from Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Russia are personally invited.

The Croatian Team Chess Championship for men and women 2014 is taking place from 4th to 12th October 2014 in Bol on island Brac in Croatia.

The strongest computer championship TCEC Season 7 – Stage 1a is close to its end and Gull maintains the lead with 9/11 points after drawing against Octochess in the eleventh round.

Critter is currently second with 8 points, followed by Chiron with 7,5/10.
