The Almaty GM is taking place from 7–14 December 2022 in Almaty. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 15 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is an 10-player round-robin tournament with Daniil Lintchevski, Zurab Sturua, Bakhtiyar Askarov, Mihail Nikitenko, Liya Kurmangaliyeva, Serkan Soysal, Mukhiddin Madaminov, Artavazd R. Hayrapetyan, Sundar M. Shyam and Mamikon Gharibyan.

The UK Open and Women’s Blitz Chess Championships 2022 were held on 3rd December in Royal Leamington Spa. The Open tournament was a 16-player round-robin event and the women’s championship was played in the same system, with 15 participants.

The 3rd edition of the El Llobregat Open Chess Tournament 2022 is taking place from November 30 to December 8 in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain and gathers 175 players fighting for the prize fund of 29.500eur!

The second game of the Women’s Candidates Semifinals between Tan Zongyi and Aleksandra Goryachkina finished in a draw and the result is now tied 1-1, with only two games to go.

The second game of the 2022 FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament, Pool B, played this afternoon in the magnificent Farovon Hotel venue in Khiva, Uzbekistan, ended in a draw after forty moves. After a very equal encounter, GM Aleksandra Goryachkina and GM Tan Zhongyi are now tied 1-1 in the match: two classical games are left to decide the winner before resorting to the tiebreak.

The event will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes with 30 seconds increment from move 1.

The event will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for the whole game plus 30 seconds of increment per each move, starting from the move one.

The 2022 Chessable Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival takes place from 11-22 December in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain. The Festival features two tournaments: Open A and Open B, with the total prize fund of 27.155eur. The Open A will be played in 10 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest, with increment of 30 seconds from the first move.
