The Danzhou Super GM Tournament 2017 is taking place from 9-18 July 2017 in China. It is a ten player round robin, including top GMs like GM Ivanchuk, GM Wei Yi, GM Le Quang Liem, GM Yu Yangyi, GM Ruslan Ponomariov, etc.

The 7th Amsterdam international summer chess tournament will take place from July 8-16, 2017. The playing conditions are perfect in a high-tech, sportive and inspiring environment in the sports center Universum.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin in Novo-Ogarevo. The Russian leader congratulated Karjakin on sports achievements, and also thanked him for the development of chess.

“I want to thank you for what you are doing to develop chess,” Putin said.

The gala opening of the third stage of the FIDE World Chess Grand Prix was held tonight at the Four Seasons Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland.

On behalf of FIDE the tournament was officially opened by prof. dr. Adrian Siegel, FIDE Treasurer and member of the Presidential Board.

The world’s most elite chess players of both past and present will be facing off in the U.S. Chess Capital during the Sinquefield Cup, the most prestigious chess tournament hosted on U.S. soil.

Following the Sinquefield Cup, legendary World Champion Garry Kasparov will be coming out of retirement to compete against world’s top chess talent of modern time in the inaugural Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament as a wildcard.
