FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Results

Official FIDE logoFrom 14 to 17 April 2017 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by the Saudi Chess Association, in cooperation with the Asian Chess Federation and under auspices of FIDE.

David Navara and Kristýna Havlíková are Czech Chess Champions

The 2017 Czech Chess Championships for men and women were held from 29th April to 7th May at the Culture Palace in Ostrava.

Both events were incorporated into single open section with 58 participants, organized by Ostrava Chess z.s.

GCT Paris Rapid to be broadcast on CANAL+ SPORT channel

The Grand Chess Tour is very pleased to announce that the 2017 GCT Rapid tournament in Paris will be broadcast on the CANAL+ SPORT channel in France. The show will feature a daily highlights package of the best games from each the five days play. Each show will last for one hour and will be aired nightly at 23.30 between June 21st and June 25th inclusive.

The shows will be hosted by the CANAL+ television journalist Pauline Sanzey.

French Top 12 Chess 2017 (women) LIVE!

This is the first stage of the French Top 12 Chess 2017 in the women section. The 12 best teams in France are split into two round robin groups. The top two teams from each group qualify for the finals in June.

Top players include IM Elizabeth Paehtz, WGM Anne Haast, FM Marina Brunello, IM Vega Gutierrez, GM Pia Cramling, IM Anna Matnadze, WIM Judith Fuchs, IM Lela Javakashvili, etc.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Budva, Montenegro

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 15 to 19 June 2017 in Budva, Montenegro, by the Montenegro Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar will be the Slovenska Plaza Hotel in Budva.

The Lecturers will be IA Branislav Suhartovic (SRB) and IA Zoran Bojovic (SRB), FIDE Lecturers.

Wei Yi and Lei Tingjie are 2017 Chinese Chess Champions

The 2017 Chess Championships of China for men and women were held from 23rd April to 4th May in Xinghua Jiangsu China. Both events were 12-player round robins.

In each section four players singled out on the top leaving the rest of respective fields far behind.
