The Egyptian Chess Federation is organizing the Golden Cleopatra Open, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt – Mondial Hall at Eastern Company Club from 12th to 22nd December 2016, under patronage of Mr. Mohamed Osman Haroon, the Chairman of Egyptian Eastern Company.

The tournament is open to all Fide-rated players with a standard rating of 1000 and above (as of 1st December 2016) – Online ratings & titles are not accepted. Last day for registration & payment is Tuesday 6th December 2016.

The Russian Chess Federation and FIDE Events’ Commission (EVE) will hold a Seminar for International Organizers in Sochi, Russia, from 4-6th December. The seminar is co-organized during the World School Championships 2016.

During the European Club Cup 2016 in Novi Sad, Serbia, the ECU organized the 1st ECU Arbiters’ Refreshment Course, which was held from 8th to 10th November.

From the 18th of November till the 2nd of December the capital of Ugra will host the final and decisive leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2015 / 2016. The venue for the tournament is Ugra Chess Academy.
