24th New York State Open

The 24th Annual New York State Open will be held from May 20-22, 2016, at the Tiki Resort, 2 Canada St., Lake George, New York.

The event has 4 sections: Open, Senior, Under 1610 and Under 1210. Each section has either a 3-day schedule (May 20-22) or 2-day schedule (May 21-22) to participate in.

The tournament format is 5-round Swiss, 40/100, SD/30, d10 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/60, d10).

The event has a $3,000 prize fund, unconditionally guaranteed.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Monrovia, Liberia – Results

From 3 to 7 May 2016 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Monrovia, Liberia, by the Liberian Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Africa Chess Confederation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer was IA Omar Salama (ISL), FIDE Lecturer.

The lectures were in English language.

Twenty seven (27) people from Liberia and Ivory Coast participated in the Seminar and eighteen (18) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
