Cetinje Open 2016

The International Chess Open Cetinje 2016 is going to take place 4-10 May in Montenegro. A total of 69 players from 10 countries participate, among them are 15 GMs, 11 IMs, and 33 titled players.

Kazakhstan Chess Championship 2016 LIVE!

The Kazakhstan Chess Championship takes place 3-13 May, 2016, in Almaty. It is a 12 player round robin event with the top players of the country including Murtas Kazhgaleyev, Rinat Jumabayev, and Anuar Ismagambetov.

International Open Tournament Cetinje 2016 – Participants

Montenegro Chess Federation organizes the International Chess Open Tournament Cetinje 2016, from 4 to 10 May 2016, on the occasion of 10 years of renewal of the independence of Montenegro.

Cetinje, the old capital of Montenegro – the city museum, is only 30 km from Budva, the center of Montenegro’s tourism, and 30 km from the capital Podgorica. The airports Tivat (49km) and Podgorica (42km) are nearby.

Valentina Gunina convincing in Batumi Women’s Grand Prix

After claiming the winner’s trophy with one round to spare, Valentina Gunina had a pressure-free game against Nino Batsiashvili. It was still an interesting encounter as black sacrificed two pawns for active play. The battle settled in a draw before the time control.
