FIDE World Youth U14, U16, U18 Championships 2016

The FIDE World Youth U14, U16, U18 Championships 2016 (open and girls) will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, from the 20th of September (arrival) till the 4th of October (departure) 2016.

The Championships will be organized and held by AI “UgraMegaSport” with the assistance of the Ugra Chess Federation and under the auspices of Russian Chess Federation and FIDE.

Russian Team Chess Championship 2016 LIVE!

The Russian Team Chess Championship takes place 1-10 May, 2016, in Sochi. The games start at 15:00 local time (14:00 CET) daily with live analysis on Chessdom.com

The competition is a 5-team double round-robin. Syberia, with Vladimir Kramnik and Alexander Grischuk are the defending champions. The main challengers are ShSM with Karjakin. The other participants are Ladiya Kazan, Mednii Vsandnik, and Zhiguli.

International Conference Chess Education in Schools

Chess Academy of Armenia and Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, cooperating with FIDE, Armenian Chess Federation, and Armenian State Pedagogical University are organizing an International Conference, entitled “Theoretical and Practical Issues of Chess Education in Schools”.

The Conference is to take place on 30 September (arrival day) to 3 October (departure day), 2016, at “Russia hotel”, in Tsaghkadzor, Republic of Armenia.

Ljilja Drljevic is new Serbian Women’s Champion

The Serbian Women’s Chess Championship took place from 20-28th April at Hotel Šumarice in Kragujevac.

Ten players with the average elo 2160 competed in the round robin tournament.

WIM Ljilja Drljevic, member of chess club Radnički-Bone Ćuprija, cruised to the victory and her first national title despite the loss in the first round.
