The 24th Annual Chicago Open was held May 21-25, 2015, at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, Illinois.

The event had 8 sections: Open, Under 2300, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000.

The Open section with 113 participants was played over 9 rounds of Swiss system (May 21-25) with the time control 40/2, SD/30 d10.

India’s biggest television network Doordarshan will telecast four exclusive Highlights of the 2nd Shamkir Tournament – Vugar Gashimov Memorial on its DD Sports Channel from 5-8th June.

The May Lviv Tradition (IM Group) round-robin tournament is currently in progress at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, situated in western Ukraine.

– Fabiano, congratulations with your victory in the series and qualification to the Candidates! How did this Grand Prix stage and the whole series go off for you?

– It was important for me to qualify for the Candidates tournament. There were good and bad moments during the Grand Prix legs, but the main goal was achieved.

Pawn Sacrifice, a movie about the legendary chess champion Bobby Fischer, premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 3 to 8 August 2015 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, by the Russian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.
