The 7th Mediterranean Junior Chess Championships 2015 for boys & girls under 20 will be held in Chania on Crete, Greece from 26th August (arrival) to 3rd September 2015 (departure).

The 13th World’s Youth Stars tournament, dedicated to the memory of Vanya Somov, is taking place from 19-30th May at the Palace of Culture KINEF in Kirishi, Leningrad region, Russia.

The tournament is a 12-player, single round-robin event, according to the acting rules of FIDE. The tournament is valid for IM-norms.

The 2015 Higher League for the 68th Russian Men’s Championship and 65th Russian Women’s Championship is scheduled to take place from 21st June to 2nd July at the Hotel Baltica in Kaliningrad.

The German Chess Federation (Deutscher Schachbund e.V.) held its Federal Congress on 16th May in Halberstadt.

The 24th Annual Chicago Open will be held from 21-25 May, 2015, at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, Illinois.

The event has 8 sections: Open, Under 2300, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000.

The Open section will be played over 9 rounds of Swiss system (May 21-25) with the time control 40/2, SD/30 d10. The section is FIDE rated and FIDE title norms are possible.

The FIDE Zone 3.1 Championship 2015 kicked off in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

The event is organized by the Oman Chess Federation from 17-24th May, 2015 and it was inaugurated by FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

The 16th European Individual Women’s Chess Championship for 2015 is taking place from 18-31st May at the hotel “Oazis Palace Chakvi” in Chakvi, Adjara, Georgia.

The Championship is organized by the government of Georgia, government of Adjarian Autonomous Republic and Georgian Chess Federation under the auspices of European Chess Union.
