The 29th edition of the Magistral Ciudad de León is set to take place from the 9th to the 13th of June in the Auditorium in León, Spain.

The 16th European Senior Chess Championship will take place in Yerevan, Armenia from June 4 (day of arrival) to 14 June (day of departure) 2016. The tournament will be held in the Chess House named after Tigran Petrosian.

The European Senior Chess Championship will be played in two categories: one for those who shall have reached the age of 50 (category SENIOR 50+), and one for those who shall have reached the age of 65 (category SENIOR 65+).

Nagpur boy Sadhwani Raunak (7.5) emerged Champion on better tie-breaks, after the 9th and final round of the IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Junior Chess Tournament 2016 that concluded at Mount Litera School International, Bandra (East), Mumbai.

Tying for the top spot at 7.5 points with Sadhwani Raunak were Rahman Mohammad Fahad (Ban) and Aditya Mittal respectively.

GM Urii Eliseev and FM Dmitry Gordievsky shared the fist place in the 2016 Moscow Open Men’s Cup of Russia Stage, the main event of the 12th International RSSU Chess Cup Moscow Open 2016, by scoring 7,5/9 points each.

According to the tie-break criteria Eliseev was awarded with the winner’s trophy.

The 2016 Moldovan Individual Chess Championships for men and women are taking place from 2-10 February, in the Moldova’s capital city

The RSSU School Champions Cup, part of the 12th International RSSU Chess Cup Moscow Open 2016, was concluded on 6th February at the Russian State Social University. The competitions were held in the age groups U9, U11, U13 and U15, for boys and girls.

Top rated female player and former World Champion Hou Yifan is visiting Chile from 2-10th February.

The first activity was a 60-board simultaneous exhibition at the Plaza de la Constitución del Palacio de la Moneda. On the same day Hou Yifan visited Universidad San Sebastián to attend the national Youth Championship.
