10th Open Teplice 2015 LIVE!

The 10th Annual Open Teplice is taking place from June 13 through June 21, 2015, at the Estrade Hall in Culture House of Teplice, one of the largest spa towns in the Czech Republic.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

164 players from 22 different countries are vying for the first prize of 40,000 CZK (nearly € 1,500) plus a golden watch.

Norway Chess 2015 start with a blitz tournament (LIVE)

The 2015 edition of the traditional Norway Chess 2015, the first event of the Grand Chess Circuit, starts today in Stavanger, Norway.

The opening ceremony is around 17:00 CET, when a blitz tournament will take place to determine the pairings in the main event. The blitz will be shown with analysis live on Chessdom.com. We will also keep you updated for all news during the day in this article

29th Open Pula 2015 LIVE!

The 29th International Open Tournament Pula 2015 is taking place 13-20th June at the Hotel Park Plaza Histria in Pula, Croatia.

The 9-round Swiss event is organized by the Chess Club Pula and Croatian Chess Federation. The total prize fund is 7,330 EUR.

220 players from 19 different countries take part in the event. Top seed is GM Robert Zelcic (2505).

Simeon Stoichkov wins World Art Cup 2015

The 2015 edition of World Art Cup took place on June 7, on the second floor of the RestoExpo Delaville Cafe in Paris, the capital and largest city of France.

The event was organized by Alain Tarditc in a 10-round Swiss rapid format with tempo of play 10 minutes per player.

Report of ASEAN Chess Confederation

The meeting of the ASEAN Chess Confederation was held in conjunction with the ASEAN+ Age Group Championships and took place on 13th June 2015 at the Sports & Recreation Centre of the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Delegates were present from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and so of the ten member nations, only Brunei, Laos and Cambodia were able to come.

Judit Polgar new captain of the Hungarian National Men’s Chess Team

The best female player of all times, Judit Polgar, who retired from competitive chess after winning the team silver medal at the 2014 Chess Olympiad, has been appointed as the new captain and head coach for the Hungarian National Men’s Chess Team.

The announcement came from Thomas Seszták, President of the Hungarian Chess Federation, who noted that Polgar’s appointment was approved by unanimous vote.

1st ECU Congress and ECU General Assembly

The European Chess Union announces the official invitation for the 1st ECU Congress and the Annual ECU General Assembly.

The host federation is Montenegro Chess Federation. The official venue will be Castle of King Nikola & Hotel Princess Bar.
