IM Upadhyaya Anwesh convincing in May Lviv Tradition Tournament

The May Lviv Tradition (IM Group) round-robin tournament took place from 26th May to 1st June, 2015, at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, situated in western Ukraine. The event was a 12-player single round-robin tournament with tempo of play was 90′ + 30″.

Indian player IM Upadhyaya Anwesh was convincingly first with 9/11 points after winning seven games and drawing four.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Porto Carras, Greece

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 27 October to 2 November 2015 in Porto Carras, Halkidiki, Greece, by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission, in cooperation with the Greek Chess Federation and the Thessaloniki-Halkidiki Chess Clubs Union and under the auspices of FIDE.

The Lecturer will be IA Panagiotis Nikolopoulos (GRE), Chairman of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturers will be IA Argiris Kitharidis (GRE) and IA Ioannis Mitrou (GRE).

World Youth & Cadets Chess Championships 2015

The FIDE World Youth & Cadets Chess Championships 2015 will be held in Porto Carras, Halkidiki, Greece, from 24th October to 6th November 2015.

Every National Federation can register one official player in each category (under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 years old, open and girls). This total of twelve (12) Official Players plus one accompanying official (captain/trainer with a valid FIDE Trainer license) belonging to the national federation are invited by the Organizers.

The 11th Asian Schools Chess Championship is underway

A total of 360 players representing 19 countries now in Singapore for the 11th Asian Schools Chess Championships held at Nanyang Technological University from 30th May to 8th June 2015 has started the first round of play!

The Rashid Nezhmetdinov Rapid Cup was held on 29-30th May at the Nezhmetdinov Chess Club in Kazan, Russia.

A total of 110 players participated in the 9-round Swiss event with the time control 15′+6”.
