6th ShakkiNet GM Tournament 2015 LIVE!

The 6th ShakkiNet International Grandmaster Tournament is taking place from 8-16th June, 2015, in Helsinki, the capital and largest city of Finland.

FIDE Elite Chess For Girls in Vienna, Austria

The FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess (WOM) is pleased to announce, the 2nd Annual WOM Chess for Girls event, to take place June 28 through July 4 in Vienna at Webster University’s campus in Vienna, Austria.

Ten of the top young talents from around the world (from 10 different countries!) were invited based on the April 2015 Top Girls’ rating list, with the restriction that only one player per federation was allowed.

The 2nd International Chess Festival Iasi Open was held from 29th May to 6th June at the Polyvalent Hall in Iasi, Romania.

The tournament has attracted 129 players from 14 countries, and among them 22 Grandmasters and 15 International Masters.

Guam International Open Chess Tournament 2015

The 2015 Guam International Open Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place on 17-22nd July, 2015, at the Guam Reef Hotel, Tumon, Guam.

The tournament will be conducted as a Swiss System competition of 9 rounds and will be played according to FIDE regulations.

The total prize fund is US$8,000. Prizes may be increased if more than 40 paying entries.

Armenian team leads White Rook School Chess Tournament

On 5 June, the city of Dagomys played host to the fifth round of the 46th final of the White Rook All-Russian Chess Tournament for School Teams.

The city of Dagomys near Sochi was the venue for the latest round of the international White Rook tournament, which started on 1 June. More than 320 children from 76 regions in Russia, Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Israel are competing for the title of the strongest school chess team.

European-ACP Women’s Rapid Championship – Closing Ceremony

The 2015 European-ACP Women’s Rapid Championship was held on 1-3rd June at the Kutaisi City Hall in Kutaisi, Georgia.

The event was organized by the European Chess Union, Georgian Chess Federation and ACP. The playing format was 11-round Swiss tournament with the rate of play 15 min + 10 seconds increment per move.

48 players from ten countries competed, including 6 GMs, 5 WGMs and 14 IMs.
