The Susan Polgar Foundation’s National Open for Girls and Boys Makes Chess History in California

The Susan Polgar Foundation’s National Open for Girls and Boys hit new heights in 2015. Appearing on the West Coast for the first time, the SPFNO attracted approximately 400 players which included nearly all of the top scholastic chess players from California as well as very strong competition from every corner of the United States and beyond.

FIDE Seminar for International Organizers on Curacao – Results

Eight participants from Curacao attended the Seminar organised by the Curacao Chess Federation with financial support from the Confederation of Chess for the Americas and under the aegis of the Events Commission of FIDE.

The Seminar was held from 27th February to 1st March. Facilities were provided by the Curacao Sport & Olympic Federation.

Oxford vs Cambridge – varsity match 2015 LIVE!

The 133rd Varsity Chess Match between Oxford and Cambridge Universities takes place at the RAC Club, Pall Mall, London, on Saturday 7 March 2015, starting at 12.30pm.

This year’s event will be officially opened by GM Luke McShane, who played board one for Oxford in the 2004 and 2005 Varsity chess matches. The approximate average age of Oxford team is 23 years and Cambridge is 21 years, with approximate average ratings of Oxford 2126 and Cambridge 2252.

The 47th International WGM Tournament Belgrade 2015 is taking place from 3rd to 11th March, in Serbia, the capital and largest city of Serbia.
