Attica Cup – Final Four 2014 LIVE!

The Attica Cup – Final Four 2014 will be played from 31st May to 1st June, 2014 in one of the world’s oldest cities Athens, the capital and largest city of Greece.

The tournament, organized by ASOP Dias Chess Club and the Union of Attica Chess Clubs, will consist of 4 teams with 4 boards each. Two matches (semi-finals and finals) will determine the best one.

36th Nezhmetdinov Cup 2014 LIVE!

The 36th edition of Rashid Gibiatovich Nezhmetdinov Cup is scheduled to take place from 30th May to 9th June, 2014 in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.

The event will be a a 9 round Swiss with a time control 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

IM Vikramditya Kulkarni triumphs in Kotak Mahindra Bank International Open

IM Vikramditya Kulkarni staved off a grim challenge from top-seeded IM Aditya Udeshi in the final round of Kotak Mahindra Bank International Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament to win the championship with a score of 7.5 points.

Playing White, Vikramaditya went for the solid set-up of English opening and a draw was sufficient for him to become the champion. IM Aditya Udeshi used all his experience but Vikramditya was equal to the task and draw was agreed after 44 moves.
