The International Chess Festival Ridha Belkadhi Memorial 2014 took place from 2nd to 10th May, 2014 at Monastir Center Hotel in Tunisian city of Monastir.

The third edition of Llucmajor Open is scheduled to take place from 11th to 18th May, 2014 at Club Nautico S’arenal, part of Balearic Island Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

The Poikovsky Karpov Chess 2014, named after the former world champion Anatoly Karpov, is going to take place 11-20 May. It will be the fifteenth edition of the event, which once again will be a strong round robin tournament.

The first 5 rounds of France TOP-12 Team competition for women is taking place from 9th to 11th May, 2014 at Hotel Mercure, in Mulhouse, France. Games will be live daily with triple engine analysis on Chessdom.com and Chessdom Arena playing zone

The 32nd Open International d’échecs de Metz was held place on 3-9th May at the complexe sportif Saint Symphorien in Metz, France.

The tournament consisted of two sections – Open A (players rated over 1900) and Open B (U2000 players) and was completed over 9 rounds of Swiss system.

The prize fund for both sections exceeded 10,000 EUR.

The 78th Bulgarian Individual Chess Championship is taking place from 10th to 18th May, 2014 in Kozloduy, Bulgaria. 10 players will compete for the first prize of 3000 BGN.
