Results – Chess Olympiad 2022 round 10 (women’s section)

With a convincing 3.5-0.5 victory over Kazakhstan, India’s women’s team overtook the sole leadership of the Women’s Chess Olympiad 2022! With only one round to go, India holds the sole first place with 17 match points. Poland, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Georgia follow with 16 match points each. Chess Olympiad 2022 – Round 11 pairings (final round)

With the dramatic finish of the India2 – Uzbekistan match with Uzbekistan’s win, the convincing victory of USA, and the win of Armenia over Azerbaijan, we are heading to a very exciting finish of the 2022 Chess Olympiad. Uzbekistan and Armenia tie for the top of the Open section with 17 match points, each.

Women’s Candidates 2022 – Pool A to take place in Monaco

WFM titles at the Chess Olympiad

A total of 21 players have achieved conditional Women FIDE-Master titles at the Chess Olympiad 2022. For a direct title to be awarded immediately an applicant has to have achieved at some time a minimum rating of 1900. More players have the chance to achieve the title in the next rounds.

FIDE Master titles at the Chess Olympiad

A total of 17 players have achieved conditional FIDE-Master titles at the Chess Olympiad 2022. For a direct title to be awarded immediately an applicant has to have achieved at some time a minimum rating of 2100. More players have the chance to achieve the title in the next rounds.

Chess Olympiad 2022 – Round 9 report

The battle for the medal was all the rage in the ninth round of the Olympiad, played this afternoon at the Sheraton Four Points Convention Center in Mahabalipuram. No team is budging an inch, and the matches are fast and furious.

Uzbekistan’s young squad, led by teenager Abdusattorov and coached by seasoned Dutch Grand Master Ivan Sokolov, compellingly defeated leaders Armenia by a 3-1 score, with wins by Sindarov and Vakhidov on the last two boards.
