The International Chess Open Cetinje 2016 is going to take place 4-10 May in Montenegro. A total of 69 players from 10 countries participate, among them are 15 GMs, 11 IMs, and 33 titled players.
FIDE Zone 4.3 Championships have come to an end and the winners are both from South Africa. In the Open Section Ryan Pierre van Rensburg won with a score of 7/9 and thus getting the right to represent the zone in the World Cup and also becoming an IM.
Ding Liren and Wesley So are going to play a 4 games match as part of the China – USA summit in Shanghai. The event takes place from 4-8 May, games start at 08:00 CET and will be live on Chessdom.com with computer analysis.
The match Poland-Hungary will be one of the many accompanying events of this year’s festival in Katowice. This is the second leg encounter after the meeting held in Budapest in 2014.
The newcomer in the premier computer chess championship TCEC – Fizbo by Youri Matiounine has played a fantastic game in round 2 of the Preliminary stage. Fizbo defeated one of the favorites of the group – Ginkgo (ELO 3037).
