Daniel Dardha is one of the most exciting European chess juniors to follow nowadays. He has been consistently around the top 20 of the junior rating list and is adding more ELO points with every tournament. This weekend Daniel Dardha won convincingly the Belgian Chess Championship 2022 with a score of 8,5/9, adding 9,1 ELO points. Now Dardha is rated 2604,3 and is officially member of the 2600 ELO club.

The 2nd FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Championship over-the-board final will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 25-30 October 2022. 

The 2022 Spanish Championship, a 9-round Swiss tournament with classical time control, took place from 11-18 August in the halls of the hotel “RL Aníbal” in Linares. Both men and women competed in one event but were ranked separately, with the highest-scoring female player claiming the title of Spanish Women’s Champion.

The sixth annual Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz 2022 is also the fourth leg of the Grand Chess Tour. Eight tour players Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Alireza Firouzja, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Leinier Dominguez, Richard Rapport, and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov are joined by wildcards Hikaru Nakamura and Sam Shankland for a rapid round robin and blitz.

European Women Chess Championship 2022 takes place on August 19th – September 1st, 2022 in the Don Giovanni hotel Prague (Czech Republic). 125 players from 27 European federations registered for the event. There are 107 titled players, with 7 Grandmasters, 21 International masters, 23 Women Grandmasters, 28 Women International masters and a total of 108 titled players.
