The 15th annual Philadelphia International Chess Tournament took place from 24-28 June at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown which hosted the Philadelphia Open and will be the venue of the 50th World Open starting tomorrow.

GM Andrew Tang wins Philadelphia Open

The Philadelphia International Chess Open took place from 24-26 June at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown which will also host the 50th World Open starting tomorrow.

The event was played in 5 sections: Major, U2100, U1800, U1500, and U1200. GM Andrew Tang triumphed in the Major section, scoring perfect 5/5 points, and pocketing the money prize of 1600$. IM Thomas Bartell, Roger Martin, and Ben Johnson tied for second place, claiming 633.33$ each.
