Anish Giri yesterday announced he will travel to Madrid to look for Hikaru Nakamura. As Anish informs on his official Twitter account, he’s arrived in Madrid’s park, but Nakamura has already left.

The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 will take place from July 28th to August 10th in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. With 187 teams registered in Men’s competition and 162 teams registered in the Women’s competition, the 2022 Chennai Olympiad breaks the record previously set in the Batumi, 2018.

Today in Chess: FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 R12 recap

Hikaru Nakamura decided to spend Friday evening playing chess in Madrid’s park! After today’s 7-minute draw against Ian Nepomniachtchi, Hikaru basically provided himself with an extra free day. With 12 played rounds at the FIDE Candidates Tournament, Nakamura ties for second place with Ding Liren.

Le Quang Liem celebrated his return to classical chess after 2,5 years pause. The Vietnamese Grandmaster played nine classical games during the month of June and finished clear second at the Prague Chess Festival (Replay the games here). He added 13 ELO points and is now 23rd in the world with 2722.
