The German Youth Individual Chess Championships 2022 will be played from June 4th to June 11th in the Sauerland Stern Hotel in Willingen, the city that hosts German Youth Championships since 1996.

A Durham County Chess Congress 2022 took place over the weekend of 6-8 May in the Dolphin Centre, Darlington. Three chess events – Open tournament, Major event and Minor championship attracted a total of 159 entries and were played in 5 rounds, swiss system, with time control 100 min + 10 sec increment.

The reigning World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tried himself in the major Norwegian poker event – Norges-Mesterskapet. The event was happening in Dublin, as live poker for money is not legal in Norway. Out of 1500 players, Magnus finished 25th, surprising the professional poker players who competed next to him.
