GM Tamas Banusz with perfect score in Gabicce Mare

Hungarian Grandmaster Tamas Banusz is cruising through the 3rd Winter Sea Deluxe Open in Gabicce Mare having scored five wins in the first five rounds.

Banusz is now a full point ahead of the second-placed FM Nicola Altini.

The 3rd Winter Sea Deluxe Open is taking place from 2-6th January, 2015, in Gabicce Mare, Italy, next to the Adriatic Sea.

The Arab Youth Chess Championship is taking place 4th-11th January 2015 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. A total of 100 players divided in open events of U20, U18, U16, U14, U12, U10, and U8 age categories.

Gillian Bwalya wins 2015 Zimbabwe Chess Open Championships

International Master Gillian Bwalya today became the latest Zambian to win the Zimbabwe Open Chess Championship which was hosted at Holiday Inn Harare and sponsored by Kasparov Chess Foundation Africa.

And 6 Zambians finished in the top 10 places of the tournament when defending champion IM Kelvin Chumfwa finished in 3rd with places 6th to 9th going to Zambians FM Richmond Phiri, IM Chitumbo Mwali, Michael Kaoma and Kaulule Siame Kela respectively.
