The Planetwin365 – All Stars 2014 Blitz Tournament was held on 29th December at the Tadic Chess Club in Medakovic, Belgrade.

26 players competed in the round robin tournament with the time control 3′+2”. There were 16 Grandmasters in the field.

The 7th Chennai International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament is taking place from 30th December, 2014, to 6th January, 2015, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, India.

The event is organized by the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association and total cash prize fund in the amount of Rs. 14, 00, 000/- (approx 18,000 EUR) is provided.

180 participants from 12 different countries are taking part in the event, including 17 Grandmasters and 30 International Masters with 2.600 € reserved for the winner.

The Open Section is a 9-round Swiss tournament, valid for GM and IM norms.

Gata Kamsky won the 2014 Empire City Open after edging fellow Grandmaster Robert Hungaski on tie-break. The two players finished with 5,0/6 points each and earned 900 USD apiece.
