The 14th Dubai Junior Chess Tournament 2016 is going to be organized by Dubai Chess & Culture Club from 19th – 27th July 2016.

The 2016 U.S. Championship and U.S. Women’s Championship will not only go down in the history books as the strongest event but also as arguably the one with the most dramatic finale.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 10 to 12 June 2016 in Munich, Germany, by the FIDE Disabled Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

Slovenia Open 2016 takes place 23.4 – 1.5 in Otočec. A total of 50 players participate in this year’s edition. Among the top seeded are Robert Markus, Alexander Beliavsky, Saso Martinovic, Matej Sebenik, Marko Tratar, Firat Burak, Zan Tomazini, Ognjen Jovanic.

The I.R. Iran Chess Federation under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and the World Chess Federation (FIDE), has the honour of inviting all Asian national chess federations to participate in the 12th Asian Schools Chess Championships 2016 to be organized in Tehran, Iran from 9th July (arrival) to 18th July (departure) 2016.

There shall be 6 categories; namely Under-07, Under-09 Under-11, Under-13, Under15 and Under-17 with separate events for Open and Girls.

The 25th Annual Eastern Class Championships were held from April 22-24, 2016, at the Host Hotel at Cedar Lake, 366 Main St, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

The event had 7 sections: Master, Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E. The playing format was 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/100, SD/30, d10.

The 3rd Lviv Tradition April Chess Tournament 2016 is taking place from April 25-30, at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, Ukraine.

The FIDE Zone 4.3 Championships will be happening in Mauritius at the Riu Le Morne Hotel.

The event for the women’s section will be a round robin event starting on 24th of April and finishing on the 1st of May. The Federations represented are Angola, Botswana, Mauritius and South Africa. The top players are WFM Jesse Nikki February (RSA), WIM Anzel Laubscher (RSA) and WIM Francis Onkemetse (BOT)

The Greek Chess Composition Committee, in co-operation with the Greek Chess Federation, organized the 12th European Chess Solving Championship from 15-17th April at the “Oasis Hotel Apartments” in Glyfada, a cosmopolitan suburb of Athens.
