Chinese Grandmaster Bu Xiangzhi emerged winner of the 2015 New Year Championship after conceding only one draw to conclude the event with 5,5/6 points, a full point ahead of the chasing pack.

The 2015 New Year Championship was held from 2-4th January at the SFO Airport Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, a city on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Hungarian Grandmaster Tamas Banusz is cruising through the 3rd Winter Sea Deluxe Open in Gabicce Mare having scored five wins in the first five rounds.

Banusz is now a full point ahead of the second-placed FM Nicola Altini.

The 3rd Winter Sea Deluxe Open is taking place from 2-6th January, 2015, in Gabicce Mare, Italy, next to the Adriatic Sea.
