Zadar Open 2015

The Zadar Chess Union is holding the 2015 Zadar Open from 13-19th December at the Falkensteiner Hotels & Resorts Borik in Zadar, Croatia.

The event consists of two sections, Group A for players rated above 2200 FIDE and Group B for U2300 players. Both sections will be completed over nine rounds of Swiss system.

Top prizes in Group A are EUR 2000 / 1200 / 800 / 600 / 500 / 400 etc

The best placed Croatian player qualifies for the national championship.

European Senior Team Chess Championship 2016

The European Senior Team Chess Championship 2016 will be held in Halkidiki, on the northern coast of Aegean Sea from 18th to 28th April 2016.

The games will take place in the conference center of 5-star Anthemus Sea Resort on the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki, 95 km south Thessaloniki airport. Anthemus Sea is an excellent holiday destination, surrounded by a sandy beach on the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea.

Ivanchuk dominated the ACP Masters in Ashdod

acp_masters-logoVassily Ivanchuk from Ukraine is the winner of the ACP Masters rapid super tournament that ended on Thursday in the Israeli city of Ashdod. The Ukraine No.1 beat Frenchman Etienne Bacrot in the final match 2.5: 0.5 to take home the title and the 10.000 $ first prize.

London Chess Classic Day 6 Round-Up

Thursday saw the return of the Grand Chess Tour, with the identity of this year’s winner still very much in the balance. With three rounds to go, almost anyone could still win both the London Chess Classic and overall title.
