The fifth qualifier of the unique FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015 was being played on Thursday, September 10th, on the official FIDE Online platform.

The FIDE World Chess Cup, an integral part of the World Championship Cycle 2014-2016, is taking place from September 10 – October 5, 2015, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

All the rounds start at 12:00 CET.

On Sunday September 6, the open Moscow Blitz Championship was held in the mall Gorbushin. More than 30 of the country’s leading grandmasters contested the main events, the unrestricted section and women’s section.

The winner of the unrestricted section was the Russian National Team member and 2010 European champion Ian Nepomniachtchi. Over the course of 19 rounds, he accumulated 14.5 points.

Once again the Malaysian Chess Festival will kick off off with the ASTRO Merdeka Rapid Open Team Chess Championships.

While the Malaysian Chess Festival celebrates it 12th year, the ASTRO Rapid Teams is even longer standing, actually taking place for the 35th time and this event is continuing to grow in popularity with every passing year, and so far a record 134 teams have registered!

The computer chess fans were treated to a special performance by Stockfish in TCEC Stage 1a. It literally destroyed opposition, finishing the group with 11,0/11.

The 2015 edition of Memorial Maria Albulet is taking place from September 10-16, in Braila, Romania.

The event is a 9-round Swiss female tournament with tempo of play 90′/40 + 30′ + 30″.

Top seed is WGM Elena-Luminita Cosma (2330) of Romania.

The 12th Avicenna International Open Chess Tournament took was organized by the Hamedan Chess Association and Iranian Chess Federation from September 2-9, 2015, in the Iranian city of Hamedan.
