The Pyramiden Cup 2015 was held from September 3-6, at the Pyramide Hotel*****, in Furth, a city in northern Bavaria, Germany.
The event was a 7-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 15′ + 30″.
At the meeting of the FIDE Executive Board in Abu Dhabi, September 7th 2015, the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov received a proposal to run for the FIFA Presidency.

During the FIDE Executive Board in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the President of the Russian Chess Federation, the FIDE Vice President Andrey Filatov proposed to the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to run for FIFA President.
