Dmitry Jakovenko defeated Anish Giri in the 7th round of Tbilisi FIDE Grand Prix to emerge clear second in the standings, half a point behind the leader Evgeny Tomashevsky.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Rosenheim, Germany

Official FIDE logoA FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 11 to 14 June 2015 in Rosenheim, Germany, by the German Chess Federation’s Arbiters’ Commission, in cooperation with the German Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

GM Nikita Maiorov first in Guingamp

The 19th International Chess Tournament Guingamp took place from 14th to 21st February, 2015, in Guingamp, a city in northwestern France.

The event was a 9-round Swiss open tournament with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″ and prize fund in total of 4,600 €.

GM Nikita Maiorov from Belarus lifted the trophy with 7/9 points and took the first prize in the amount of 1,000 €.

Radjabov, Svidler win in Tbilisi FIDE Grand Prix round 6

Teimour Radjabov and Peter Svidler have scored their first respective victories in the FIDE Grand Prix in Tbilisi.

Match Blondes vs Brunettes at Ostankino

The traditional 5th blitz match between “Blondes” and “Brunettes” is scheduled to take place on 3rd March at the telecenter “Ostankino” in Moscow.

In the earlier encounters Blondes won two matches, Brunettes were better in one, while one match was tied.

The playing format will be Scheveningen with eight players in each team.
