The 137th MGU Open 2015 is scheduled to take place from 28th February to 1st March, 2015, at Chess Club MGU, in Sofia, capital and largest city of Bulgaria.

The Chess Association of “West Azerbaijan” province on behalf of I.R. Iran Chess Federation organizes the 23rd Fajr International Open Chess Tournament from 18th to 23rd February, 2015 in Urmia, the capital of of West Azerbaijan Province in Iran.

The event is a Swiss open tournament with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.

133 players from 9 different countries will take place in the event, including 6 GMs, 1 WGM, 8 IMs, 7 FMs and 4 WFMs.

The International Chess Open Graz 2015 will take place on 13-20th February 2015 at the beautiful and modern Hotel Spa Novapark in Graz, the second-largest city in Austria.

The event is a 9-round Swiss open with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

126 players from 21 countries participate in the tournament, including 12 GMs, 2 WGMs, 20 IMs, 24 FMs and 3 WFMs.

The 7th Batavia Chess Tournament takes place from on 19th February, 2015 in Café Batavia 1920, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The event is a 10-player single round-robin tournament, with tempo of play 3′ + 2″.

Evgeny Tomashevsky defeated his compatriot and top seed Alexander Grischuk in the third round of the FIDE Grand Prix in Tbilisi to emerge sole leader with 2,5 points.

Chess federations entitled to take part in the Mitropa Cup 2015 are: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
