The XXIII Montcada International Chess Tournament is scheduled to be held from 25th June to 3rd July 2015 at the brand new Teatro Municipal, in Montcada i Reixac, Spain.

The 2nd Annual Greater Midwest Class Championships were held on 28-30th November at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg Hotel, 1800 E. Golf Rd., Schaumburg, Illinois.

The event consisted of five sections: Master/Expert (2000-up), Class A (U2000), Class B (U1800), Class C (U1600) and Class D (U1400 and below). All groups were completed over 5 rounds of Swiss system.

The 1st Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival 2014 will be held from 13-21st December at the Sunway Playa Golf Sitges Hotel & Spa in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain.

The 9-round Swiss event will have two sections: Group A open to all players and valid for title norms, and Group B reserved for U2000 players.

A total of 19,700 EUR in cash prizes will be distributed among over 100 players. Top prizes in the Group A are 2000 € / 1200 € / 800 € / 700 € / 550 € etc

The Russian Chess Championship Superfinal, the 67th for men and the 64th for women, is taking place from 27th November till 8th December in the city of Kazan, in a branch of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (the Khazine Gallery). The Superfinal is the main individual competition in the Russian chess calendar: it determines the country’s strongest male and female chess player.

The 74th Italian Chess Championship was held from 23rd November to 4th December at the Hotel “Villa Rota Resort”, Via Annunziatella, Boscotrecase NA.

The Championship was a round robin event with 12 players and average elo 2460. The prize fund was 14,300 EUR, of which 3000 EUR was reserved for the winner.

The 6th London Chess Classic is taking place on 6-14th December at the Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington, London.

The 50th Annual American Open was held on 27-30th November at the Grand Ballroom, Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange County, in Orange, California.

The 8-round Swiss event consisted of six sections: Open, U2200, U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400.

Open and U2200 are FIDE rated. The guaranteed prize fund was $25,000.
