The 2015 edition of Basel Chess Festival is scheduled to be held on 1-5th January 2015 at Hotel Hilton in Basel, Switzerland.

The event will be split into two main tournaments – Master Section and Amateur Tournament.

A FIDE Seminar for International Organizers will be held on 14-16th December in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The seminar is organized by the FIDE Event’s Commission (EVE) and the UAE Chess Federation.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 18 to 20 December 2014 in Al Ain, UAE, by the UAE Chess Federation in cooperation with the Al Ain Culture and Chess Club and the UAE Chess Federation Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 7 to 9 December 2014 in Dubai, UAE, by the UAE Chess Federation in cooperation with Dubai Chess and Culture Club and the UAE Chess federation Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

The World Amateur Chess Championships will be held in Porto Carras, Halkidiki, Greece on the northern coast of the Aegean Sea. The dates are 13 April (arrivals, technical meeting) to 22 April 2015 (departures).

Rilton Cup was initiated by a donation from Dr. Tore Rilton, and since 1985 the tournament is financially secured. The challenge prize, donated by SEB, is a Rilton-medal in genuine gold.
