The Estonian Chess Championship 2022 took place from 10-18 December in Tallinn. The Open tournament was played as a 10-player round-robin, and the Women’s Championship was played as a 5-player round-robin event.

The 20th edition of the Delhi International Open Grandmasters Tournament will take place from 17-24 January in New Delhi. The event will be played in 10 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 Minutes plus 30 second increment from move 1 for entire game, featuring the total prize fund of ~140.000eur.

The Chessable Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival is underway in Sitges and seven rounds were already played.

The 2nd Chess Academy Almaty GM is taking place from 16–23 December 2022 in Almaty. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 15 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is a 10-player round-robin tournament with participation of Mihail Nikitenko, Zurab Sturua, Daniil Lintchevski, Sabino Brunello, Vladimir Burmakin, Mamikon Gharibyan, Aldiyar Ansat, Airat Sadubayev, Azamat Utegaliyev and Arystan Isanzhulov.

The Chessable Sunway Sitges Blitz 2022 took place during the free day of the Chessable Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival. The event was played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with 18-year-old Rithvik Raja emerging as the winner of the event.

The 2022 Cape Verde Chess Championship took place from 7-11 December in Praia. The event was played as an 8-player round-robin tournament with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. 

The 2022 Chessable Sunway Sitges Chess Festival is taking place from 11-22 December and features two tournaments: Open A and Open B, with the total prize fund of 27.155eur. GM Yu Yangyi is top-seeded at the A tournament, and the field includes GM Hans Niemann, GM Jorden van Foreest, GM Ivan Cheparinov, GM Jules Moussard, GM Andrey Esipenko and a total of 43 grandmasters.

The 2022 European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2022 concluded yesterday in Katowice, Poland. The event gathered 1000 players coming from 40 European federations who fought for the European throne.

The Portuguese Honour is taking place from 16–22 December 2022 in Lisbon. Players receive 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is a 10-player round-robin tournament with participation of Pedro Godinho Marques, Vitor Morais, Julio Santos, Joao Tiago Gama, Markus Hansson, Isabel Pereira Dos Santos, Artur Solovyov Eloy Guia, Lourenco Santa Clara Silva, Reinaldo Silva and Rui Filipe Pereira Marques.
